We explore real life case law examples and statistics which will enable your employees to understand what sexual harassment is and how to prevent it.
A recent report by the Fawcett Society (November 2021) stated that at least 40% of women have experienced workplace harassment. This figure rises to 63% for those women aged between 18-24 years of age. It is therefore (unfortunately) relatively normalised that such inappropriate occur. This course will:
1-hr online interactive session
This is a knowledge-based session which provides an overview of the structure of harassment legislation. It will also provide delegates with a summary of what sexual harassment in the workplace is, what behaviours are expected of employees and what to do if anyone sees inappropriate behaviours occur. It will address what behaviours are unacceptable in the workplace and in social situations connected to the workplace. We can deliver this session for up to 20 people. Although this is an online session, we will keep it interactive and engaging throughout.
Half day online or on your site
This is a session which goes beyond the knowledge provided in the 1hr online session. We will also look at discrimination legislation in a more in-depth manner. The half day course is particularly useful for managers and supervisors who are your 'eyes and ears' and your first line of defence to ensure that your policies are not just words in a little read document. It is essential that your managers and supervisors set a good example and need to intervene as and when they hear or see inappropriate behaviours.
1 day session on your site
This session builds on the half-day session. In addition to providing the content provided in the half day session it will also explore unconscious bias and subtle acts of exclusion in relation to gender and of a sexual nature generally. We will also facilitate role plays based on real life scenarios to equip your managers and supervisors to have difficult and sensitive conversations with their staff.
